Beach House

Tall Cedars is your home away from home, exceptionally appointed with attention to every detail.

The kitchen comes complete with a fridge, stove, microwave, Keurig Coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes, cutlery, pots & pans—everything you need to create wonderful gourmet meals from the local offerings. Just bring your own groceries, or pick them up from a local grocer down the way after you arrive.

The dining room seats four, as does the outdoor eating area on the deck overlooking the water. A Weber BBQ is ready for you to grill dinner.

There are two living areas: On the main floor, enjoy the view while sipping a glass of wine by the fireplace; and on the lower level, a cozy area offers a couch, lots of comfy pillows, and a TV with Netflix for those rainy afternoons.

For your convenience, the home has two full bathrooms—one with a tub/shower, the other with a stand-up shower. Both are stocked with fresh towels, blow-dryers, robes, and high quality spa bath products.

What would a vacation be without a hot tub? Perfect after a day of hiking, beach combing, golfing , skiing, or yoga! Beach towels are available for your use, and because we do have the odd rainy day, we offer a selection of umbrellas too!

For those curl up kind of days, an assortment of games, puzzles, novels, and guide books on the local area are ready for you to enjoy. And let’s face it: even on vacation, one might have to do a little work. To make it a bit easier, we have a desk overlooking the water and WiFi.

Tall Cedars Beach House has sleeping options for your comfort. Two bedrooms feature king beds that can convert to extra long twins. A third bedroom has a double bed. On the lower level is an Ikea couch that is also a hide-a-bed.

Outside you will find steps that lead down to the beach—perfect for launching your kayak. Depending on the tide, you can walk a little way… or a long way.

This is the home of the famous Fanny Bay Oysters and if you are lucky you will see the harvesting in action. Take a swim during summer in the crystal clear, warm water which can reach 70 degrees at times. Make sure you bring proper footwear as the beach is rocky.

As you look across Baynes Sound you will see Denman Island, easily accessible by the ferry just five minutes down the road. Home to many potters & artists, Denman and nearby Hornby Island make for the ultimate day trip. Pack a picnic, bathing suit, and your camera.

Sunrise over water

Feeling less adventurous? Settle into a lounge chair on the deck and watch for our resident squirrels, woodpecker, hummingbirds, eagles, herons and sea lions galore that swim by everyday. The odd orca has been known to make an appearance in our waters so be on the look out for these majestic creatures.
